*”And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man”*. Luke 2:52KJV
After Christ’s birth and the account of Him in the temple at age 12, this is all the record we have of the next eighteen years of His wondrous life before He reached age 30 when He began His ministry; that He _’increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man’._
Knowledge abounds in this time but Wisdom is very scarce. Knowledge is information, understanding is comprehension;
wisdom is applied kno
wledge. We can only be wise through knowledge and the application of it. Jesus grew in both stature and wisdom; God seeks our maturity in the wisdom of His Words and not the World. True believers live a sagacious life; they discern to be convinced before they make a step. They know that their intimacy with Christ depends on their knowledge about Him; the more they know Him, the more they love Him and are willing to obey every bit of His commandments.
Did your knowledge about God increase this year? Did you even search and ask for His wisdom?
Years have passed, another year is approaching, you are gradually growing in stature, are you also growing in wisdom? Being physically fit doesn’t mean you are wisely fit. The pursuit of wisdom should be your target next year; when you grow in wisdom, you will grow in favour with God and man. Let the spirit of wisdom dwell in you richly; for this is life eternal, that you will know Him, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom He sent. _Through wisdom is an house builded_; _and by understanding it is established_: _And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.(Prov.24:3-4)._
*_If any of you lack wisdom_, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him (James 1:5)_*.
Oh that you will know, understand and be wise in Him!
*PRAYER*: Thank you Father for your protection this year. I pray to increase in wisdom as you reveal the mysteries of your Words to me in Christ Jesus’ name.
