“Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Many pass along the wrong way because the right way requires determination and self denial. Everyone seems to claim his or her own right to do what the heart wills. Everybody wants to be at liberty to choose at will. There is no way you can excuse yourself that you diligently searched for the straight gate and narrow way but couldn’t find. Our Lord Jesus said in the very same chapter that you should “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened”. Unfortunately, many are not seeking for they know of surety that they aren’t ready to stop the kind of lives they are living now for the devoted life of Christ. So they won’t even bother to seek and find. Only the few are able to knock at the strait gate to be opened unto them and seek the narrow way to find it.
Even among the few, the fewest are able to walk in this narrow way to that glorious city. Dear, we shouldn’t follow the majority, for the Truth is always with the minority. Am I on this narrow way? My life will answer. May be you’ve known Christ as the Way, dive deeper into His words to find the Truth in Him so you can enter the everlasting Life. The highway of holiness is still narrow, full of self denials, selfless life and daily taking up your cross and following Christ.
Yes there are thorns on this way that will prick you and even jab your life so much that you may be discouraged to return to Egypt, the world, but that’s the only way Christ paved for us with His holy blood. And besides, he hadn’t wished us a safer way, but a safe journey. He didn’t say we wouldn’t suffer, he said His grace will always be sufficient enough to keep us moving in Him to the end. Has He not promised us to be with us till the end of this world? Let all come to the knowledge of Him and run to the narrow way which leads to Heaven and we shall have our eternal rest there .
PRAYER: Thank you Lord Jesus for your saving words. Please lead me through this narrow path in your name.
GOD BLESS YOU
