“Thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel: return every man to his house; for this thing is from me. They hearkened therefore to the word of the LORD, and returned to depart, according to the word of the LORD.”
1Kings 12:24KJV

God had a covenant with David concerning his children that if they’ll hearken unto Him and obey all His commandments, then will He be with them and establish them. But if they forsake Him, He will chastise them with the rod, though His mercy won’t depart from them. When Solomon, the son of David became king, God reinforced this covenant with Him and seasoned it with wisdom and wealth.

Although Solomon fulfilled his purpose of building a house for God, he didn’t follow all the commandments of the Lord as did his father David. As a result, God rented ten tribes of the kingdom from the tribe of Judah and gave it to Jeroboam, instead of Rehoboam, his son. In the aftermath of this, Rehoboam, prepared to battle against the house of Israel to redeem the kingdom back to his tribe out of ignorance; For he didn’t know it was given to Jeroboam in fulfilment of God’s prophecy by Ahijah, the prophet. So the Lord stayed them from warring against their brethren for He said, “…this thing is from me”.

Beloved, there are many things going on in your life that its source is from God. He allows us to pass through the fire to burn all filthiness and makes us shine as the sun. Sometimes we blame ourselves, others or even the devil for the pains we bear, but we must remember that He knows exactly what He is making us to be. We may not understand now, but we will later and will joyfully proclaim in thanksgiving that “this thing was from God!”

PRAYER: I don’t understand what’s going on in my life, oh Lord. But I do believe your invisible hand is always upon me and moulding me to be a vessel of honor in Jesus name.

_”Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.”_(1Thessalonians 1:4)

It pays to be elected by God than to be elected by men. *God elects Christians, empower them with the Holy Ghost and then trust in their ability to execute the purpose for which He elected them ahead of their fellows.* On the other hand, those who vote politicians into power, during parliamentary and presidential elections, end up getting disappointed because they usually don’t get the complete results they needed them to produce, according to their campaign messages.

*Instead of these politicians to formulate timely, social interventions and pragmatic policies for the betterment of the lives of the masses, most of them fail their constituents and the general populace.* They are caught up indulging in corruption and bribery, nepotism, misappropriation of funds and a whole lot of immoral behaviours that are deteriorating the society at a faster rate. *By the time they are done with deliberations on how to fulfill what they have on their manifesto to move the country forward, propaganda and arguments must have brought the citizens into disappointment and so many socioeconomic problems.*

At the end of it all, the tenure will be a flop and the people will be marching backwards without any experiencing the development for which they voted. *It is a shame to know that this vicious cycle never ceases to end as we experience them from one government to another. *Transparency, effectiveness and accountable governance* are hardly achieved in such countries.

*In our case as Christians, God is the only eligible voter who has provided us with all the human, natural and divine resources that we will need in order to produce for Him righteousness and holiness. *These  resources are mainly the Word of God and the Holy Ghost, with our souls as the raw materials.* At the grassroot level, which concerns our own lives we are to work fervently for the complete transformation of our souls and body without any stain of sin. Secondly, we are tasked with the winning of souls into the Kingdom of God because He that elected us is in dire need of their salvation together with us until we eventually enter into Heaven. All Christians are Ministers of Righteousness and Holiness.

*Fellow Ministers of God, our portfolio is concerned with how to work out our salvation with fear and tremble until righteousness and holiness are maintained in the Body of Christ, so as to get rewarded by Christ Jesus, in the Kingdom of Heaven.* It is a great thing to be elected by the Most High God to serve Him. The reason why our policies are centered around individual and corporate righteousness and holiness is that, Jesus Christ, from whom we all came into existence, wants us to come back into Him to complete His joy in making us come out of Him. *We are to return in His original state of holiness and righteousness, in order to fit into Him as the perfect rib. Enjoy your incumbency as a Divine Minister in Charge of Righteousness and Holiness.*

*PRAYER*: My Father in Heaven, grant me more grace to perform the responsibility you have given me as your Minister of Righteousness in Jesus name. *AMEN*

_”Jesus saith unto her, Mary. And she turned herself and saith unto him, Rabboni, which is to say, Master.”_(John 20:16)

One’s standpoint determines his viewpoint. *Until a person’s gaze is fixed at the right direction, all his descriptions and answers to questions relating to the opposite direction, will definitely be wrong.* Our Lord Jesus Christ had resurrected with a glorified and new body which manifested the superhuman countenance He obtained from His Heavenly Father. Due to that, Mary Magdalene, who had so much love for the Man who rescued her at the point of death when she was guilty of prostitution, could not figure Him out.

She took Him to be a gardener but didn’t know that such a glorified being was too higher in description, than a gardener. *Fortunately for her, a Word of recognition from Jesus turned her away from her ignorance and confusion.* Therefore, she offered the risen Lord her right gift in her acknowledgment of Him as the wisest Teacher and the greatest Master over humankind. *This same Word is calling us out of depravity into new creations without any previous stains of condemnation.*

It is the exact Word which is calling us from the wrong viewpoint in order to know the purpose of our calling us children of God, and it is followed by our reverence to keep His name holy in our deeds and reactions to His call (2Timothy 2:19). Mary Magdalene was bold enough to call Him Master because she was obedient to Him as a servant and follower of His. *As she turned before according Him the right response to her calling, she was also able to give the correct description of the Saviour’s identity.*

She was familiar with the Voice of Christ because she knew that was the particular Voice which exorcised seven devils from her and gave her a new direction. It is not astonishing to hear that Mary Magdalene became an Evangelist who proclaimed the resurrection of Christ to the disciples. *She was a holy witness whose name wasn’t only famous in the Gospel because of the expensive oil she used to anoint the feet of Christ before His death.*

Beloved, if Mary Magdalene didn’t turn back to prostitution as a vomit to lick it up, then nothing former or evil must be found in our new lives in Christ. Turning away from Jesus before answering Him is wrong. *When we turn to Jesus, let us stand before Him alone and accord Him the righteous life commanded and conferred on us by the character in His name, before we can be known by Him.* Until we turn away from the world of filthiness, we cannot call Jesus Christ the Master and Shepherd of our lives.

*PRAYER*: Hallowed be thy name Oh Lord Jesus Christ. Make me qualified to mention your name, all the days of my life.  *AMEN*

_”So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.”_(Joel 3:17)

Oral tradition and written sources, happen to be two of the ways of obtaining history about how our forefathers waged wars of conquest, put in their best resources, before they could establish our countries and towns of origin. *Indeed, blood was shed and sacrifices were made by some warlords and freedom fighters, who had to sacrifice their lives for the independence of their lands at last.*

More than such an earthly city or kingdom is here with us. *Until Jerusalem could obtain peace before the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, so many strange attacks and idol worships had ceased this great city from enjoying its original status as a holy city.* It was so because of the disobedience of Judah, whose kings turned to follow strange gods and did strange things to provoke the anger of God. As the jealous God, He punished them to face the repercussion of their idolatrous ways by allowing instability, slavery and incessant wars to take away the glory of the City, and the Land was not ceased from punishments.

The battle over our lives have been won by our Lord Jesus Christ, who has proven beyond all reasonable doubts that He has the power to restore beauty and growth to our bodies and souls which together comprise the Spiritual City. He shed His precious blood for us before He could build us like His Jerusalem on a hill that cannot be hidden. We are the fortified and and invincible cities where the world has to find Jesus and obtain love, peace, and a life without sin. *As cities on the Hill of Righteousness, where the Spirit of the God of Israel dwells, we are not to allow any backsliding or worldly knowledge to come near our dwelling. Yay, we are the Zion of Yahweh !!!*

*PRAYER*: Lord Jesus Christ, dwell in me as in Zion, your holy mountain. *AMEN*

👉MEMORY VERSE: _”But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”_(Genesis 2:17)

Secrecy is something which is known by God and a particular person alone. Satan came to know the secret between God and Adam because Adam unveiled this secret to Eve, from whom Satan heard it. God commanded Adam not to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in order not to die. Secret is something that you have it in mind and you haven’t disclosed to any other person. It is known by you and God. In some cases, it may be a mystery that God has given you alone until it’s time for it to manifest.

In 1Kings 13:7-29, there is a true story about a disobedient Prophet who was sent by God to Bethel. He ordered Him not to eat or drink anything, and He shouldn’t return through the way by which he entered the township of Bethel. He disclosed this to a retired Prophet of God in the town and he was deceived to eat and drink, instead of doing what God asked Him to do. Thus brought death upon him on his route back home. He disclosed this secret and it led to his death.

Also in Genesis 37:5-11, the brothers of Joseph the Dreamer hated him severely, after they had heard about the dreams depicting his elevation by the Lord God, above his family. Eventually, he was sold into slavery by his brothers and we all know the hardships he had to go through.

There are two main types of secrets: they are good and bad secrets. Bad secrets must be disclosed to the right people who can help us out of impending troubles aimed at  overtaking you. For instance, one who hears a strange voice to kill himself, one who practises witchcraft, one who tells you about his willingness to cause harm to somebody, and one who keeps a secret sin over years without telling any resourced person. These are all examples of bad secrets which shouldn’t remain secret.

Who am I to tell my evil secrets and good secrets? The person should be knowledgeable in God’s Word, must be trustworthy, and should be known inside out irrespective of the positions they wield. God considered hiding from Abraham what He wanted to do. He knew that He couldn’t hide His Word from Abraham because He could trust Him (Genesis 18:17-19). The effects of losing your good secret to the wrong person is that, it makes you embarrassed, untrustworthy, disrespected and despised by men and God, loss of blessings, divine power and it can even lead to death (Judges 16:20, 1Kings 13:20-24).

Micah 7:1-6, is teaching us that we are in the bad times when people are always engaged in committing sin. This is the main reason why God is telling us not to believe in any friend, nor disclose everything to our married partners without being vigilant. Proverbs 20:19 tells us that we shouldn’t meddle with talkative people. A talebearer is only good at exposing your powerful secrets.

*PRAYER: Every secret of mine that has been manipulated by the evil one is restored to its originality in Jesus name.*

_”Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To-day, after so long a time; as it is said, To-day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.”_(Hebrews 4:7)

According to the world’s mortality rate, multitude of people die across the world in every minute. Had it been that they could delay the date of their death by any means, they would have gladly done so. One undeniable thing that is worth noting about all these people who are passing away is that, not all of them could live their lives according to the Voice of God.

Obviously, some of them have their lives to Jesus Christ, walked in the light of His Word and finally entered into their rest after death. On the contrary, others did not allow the Voice of God to show them the way to eternal rest in Heaven: that is the more reason why they will also be in eternal disaster after death. Success in life is based on man’s ability to pay heed to the Voice of God which is His Word.

*Procrastination is the thief of time.* There are some people who keep on postponing their repentance, while others have professed Jesus Christ as their Lord without following His Word. It is very dangerous for us to live without overcoming our weaknesses as Christians. Time is not on our side at all. There are some people who wished to hear the Voice that we are hearing today but they didn’t. As Christians, we hear the Word of God every day on so many platforms but due to hardened hearts, we procrastinate the time we will need to turn away from what the Word detests.

None of us will have any excuse to give because the Voice of God comes with His Spirit to assist every man to obey Him. We shouldn’t forget that we can die at any moment from now, even as we read this. A hardened heart is the one which has rebelled against the Voice of God, and is always unwilling to accept any transformation. In fact, it is an indication which can lead one into seared conscience and apostasy.

In obeying this Voice, we have to close our ears to any other voice and get the full concentration to live for a divine purpose. He who hears this Voice will not be as a reprobate, whose heart cannot be fit for any good message. One who despises this Voice and rather gives so much attention to other voices, is a failure and disappointment to life.

*PRAYER*: Let your voice penetrate my soul and quicken me to act obediently, Oh Lord Jesus. *AMEN*

_”BLESSED is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.”_(Psalm 41:1)

God is the determiner of people’s destinies. He is the same person who has blessed some people to be rich enough or possess what it takes to consider the poor and needy within our societies. Those with genuine riches are made by God to serve the less privileged people in the society with their riches. That is why their blessings from God will continue to come from the Lord Himself, as long as they continue doing magnanimous and charitable acts.

Most at times, people think that they will have to give out on condition that they have money in abundance. This is a blatant lie because we have to share the little money, resources and knowledge we have, with the poor and needy. Giving out is something beyond the physical act of offering something huge to someone at the receiving end; it is a free flow of kindness from a heart filled with love and possessed by Christ Jesus.

When someone is rich, he or she isn’t having something in abundance; instead, they are those who have something to give out. Going by this accession, we can say from the memory verse for the day that rich men do not live ostentatious or opulent lifestyles. They are those who don’t pride themselves with what they own but give out to the poor in exchange for the power of God. How much you worth is determined by how you consistently give out to make people’s lives meaningful.

The time to render our time, energy, knowledge, commitment and money towards the betterment of the lives of others, is now. Meditative reading of the verse will help us to know the reason why trouble will never pass by any body, not even the rich and prominent figures in the society. We shouldn’t be excited about the riches we have until they have helped in the consideration of the poor. This is only when the Lord can make haste to help us in time of trouble.

*PRAYER*: Father in Heaven, richer than the richest, kindly give me the heart to make the lives of others better, in Jesus name. *AMEN*

👉MEMORY VERSE: _”Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith, prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”_ (2Corinthians 13:5)

God is telling us to examine ourselves whether we are in the faith. God wants us to stand firm in the faith where He has brought us to live through our belief in Christ. One thing about God is that, He sees things afar off. This is one of the reasons why He knows us more than we know ourselves. *Life in the faith intends an everlasting partnership with God until the end.*

In 1Timothy 1:19, the Spirit of God is telling us to hold our faith and a good conscience in order not to have our faith in God shipwrecked. A wrecked ship is good for nothing and cannot be put into any good use. May the Lord Jesus Christ repair your faith if it is part of the shipwrecks that are parked aside and left to rust the more. *Church as an institution of God is meant for us to live and continue steadfastly in faith without drifting away or deviating from it.*

The one who lives in faith is the one who has his or her will nailed to the Cross of Christ in exchange for His will. Left to us alone, we would have lived our lives according to our personal principles and the way that we wanted it. *In these last days, God has called us into His ark of faith called the Church, and we are left to do His will alone.* If we should get out of this ark of faith, then we will fall into the flood of destruction as it were in the days of Prophet Noah.

*Beloved, the good fight of faith is not merely by paying lip services to express our commitment (1Timothy 4:13-14).* Our total reliance on the righteousness, godliness, faith, patience, and meekness of Jesus Christ. By so doing, we are called back from waywardness through self examination, to follow Him. One that continues in the faith is persistent in the achievement of the purpose of it. *The end result of Christianity is the attainment of the perfection in the character of Christ,* until we finally get rewarded in Heaven after our lives here on earth.

Recently, a weapon that the enemy is using to steal some of the children of God, is through the robbery of our joy. He brings discouragement to make Christians give up the fight of faith so as to destroy them. *We always grow in what we continue doing without stopping.* What will you do if we were in the shoes of Paul who told us about his ordeals and persecutions in the faith and ministry of Christ? He didn’t quit but grew stronger in the ministry. (2Corinthians 11:21-29)

*Know that the vision of faith in God will motivate us to know that no persecution can be compared to the glory ahead of faith which we seek to obtain (Hebrews 11:10,13-16, Hebrews 12:2).* Jesus Christ is the originator of our faith, who despised shame and persecutions in order to be honored by His Heavenly Father who gave Him a name which is above every name up to date and now has the power to judge the living and the dead.

Walk with people who have the same mind of faith with you so as not to be detracted by them. *The reason why we still have to continue with the Lord in the faith is to do the will of Jesus Christ alone. It only takes this will to bring us into eternity in Heaven and not in hell.* As we examine ourselves, the Lord also examines us. What was the outcome of your continuous self examination in the faith? *Are you still in the faith?*

*PRAYER: Dear Lord Jesus, make my shipwrecked faith anew and original like yours.  *AMEN*
