_”Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.”_(Psalm 100:2)

God recognises our gladness as a ministry. Worship comes with gladness which comes from deep within our hearts. An appreciation to serve the Lord God in appreciation, must surely show forth in our day to day affairs unconditionally. Gladness is a form of service which tells God that we are content with Him in spite of the challenges that may confront us.
Wide difference prevails between Christians of this generation and this is because a group of Christians perceive of gladness as the outcome of answered prayers: the genuine ones see serving God as gladness and satisfaction in their nothingness. The joy of the Spirit of God is a fruit which God demands from all Christians because once you have Christ Jesus, you have everything it takes to be joyful.

In Philippians 4:4, we are told by the Spirit of God to rejoice always and not just for some time. Sing songs that will exalt the Lord and speak of His mightiness, praise Him for His sacrifice upon your life. This is one of the ways of revealing our gladness in the Lord to translate our nothingness before Him, into total contentment with Him. Gospel songs give glory to God, and such a gladness displayed in godly songs, is an asset which cannot be taken from a practitioner of gladness in Christianity.

Sing your gladness from the bottom of your hearts to uplift your spirit so as to keep you in wide distance from secular and satanic songs that will invite demons to your life.

*PRAYER* Heavenly Father, let me serve you with gladness in Jesus name. *AMEN*

_”Thou shalt not take thee a wife, neither shalt thou have sons nor daughters in this place”_(Jeremiah 16:2)

Many couples have lost their ticket to Heaven on account of one particular reason called selfishness. Marriage as an institution was ordained by God for His own interest to be revealed in the oneness of two different people of the opposite sex with the mind of Christ. Conditions for choosing a partner is not centered around natural attraction, lust, beauty, wealth, property or any other.

God knows the perfect rib or match for each and every man or woman. The two shall become one flesh and irreplaceable by any third party. Presently, people still marry along the line of tribal sentiments, discrimination and seduction. It could be that you can do nothing without the lady or the gentleman you have targeted but they may not be your right partners. Don’t make any mistake about it or think along the line of worldly deception that you are growing old. It will lead you to marry an agent of the devil who is an angel of light.

God should be complaining, not you. Husbands and wives are made to stay in love which won’t make them feel shy when they are naked. It is so because if you two are really one, then it will be the same as stripping yourself naked in the bathroom. Do you fee shy? When the two become one flesh in companionship, thoughts, love and peace, then Christ will be at the helm of affairs in the family.

The Bible is teaching all wives to submit themselves to their husbands as husbands are also to submit themselves to Christ. Take a break here and let us come to a full comprehension of that textual declaration for all Christians. The clue here is that the two of them have become one in the Spirit of God, and on top of that Christ Jesus is married to this one which is no longer two. God won’t allow you to be married to the one that will turn your hear away from Him and stage rivalry against Him.

That is why Jesus Christ is coming for us as His bride. Let us be performing our responsibilities as marriage partners and give our whole hearts to Jesus Christ, our sweet love.

*PRAYER*: Lord, teach me to love you as a faithful spouse in Jesus name. AMEN*

“Let thy mercy, O LORD,  be upon us according as we hope in thee.”_(Psalm 33:22)

Humankind lives on the mercies of God. This is undeniably true because it is the mercy of God which is keeping us breathing until the time we die. In effect, there won’t be any mercy in the aftermath of our death. Gospel truth like this, is the right weapon to defeat and abolish the belief held or opined by some adherers and believers who share in the lies of mercy after death.

Specifically, the only hope of every living soul is to die in Christ and finally end up with Is Creator in Heaven. If that is not your goal in life, then Satan has a fruit of ignorance for you. God’s Word tells us that He will have mercy on those He will have mercy. As a result of that, all our wish in life is to receive the mercy of God in productive times like this, doing all that His mercy has pardoned us to put aright. Therefore, our greatest prayer is to ask for the tender mercies and loving kindness to endure for us.

Jesus Christ is the hope of our glory. The glory in this context will come only when we have received His mercies and turned into new leaves. Jesus Christ died on the Cross of Calvary to atone for our sins by writing them off with His blood in order for us to be stainless and prepared in absolute godliness. His sacrifice shows that God will go every length to forgive us our sins. His mercy towards us is the expression of His greatest love for humanity.

The main reason God shows mercy to mankind is not only to save us from wallowing in hell, neither is it to provide us with the greenlight to continue sinning. It is to being us into the rejection or abolition of sin, and into communion with Him in holiness and righteousness. Without holiness or sinlessness, no one can see the Lord. The mercy of God is not to cripple us in sin or fuel our persistence in  stubbornness.

His mercy is to free us from sins and grant us the likeness of Holy God, our Father. He who has hope in the God of Israel, will have to receive His mercy in order to accept to walk in His ways and make it to Heaven.

*PRAYER*: Lord Jesus, have mercy on my soul on the last days. AMEN*

👉MEMORY VERSE: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” (Psalm 34:19)

Adversity means difficulty. Take a critical look at the memory verse around which our sermon for the day is navigating. It is a verse that contains the promise of God to save us from afflictions that definitely be inescapable in the life of a righteous man. The bible tells us that affliction are not in our lives to collapse us, but to make us solely dependant on God who has kept us in His safe palm. Isaiah 49:16 says *”Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.”*

Faith in God is like a ladder that we have to climb. In the cause of our ascension, we will have to cross problems and jump over afflictions. In times of affliction, God is the only one we need to turn to, and not man. Adversities strengthens us and turns us away from routine weaknesses, carelessness and the underestimation of what it takes to stand firm and upright before God. So when the affliction comes into our lives, that is when we won’t be feeble any longer but to fully concentrate on the saving power of God which makes us His Children.

In the name of Jesus we are more than conquerors and for that reason, nothing should separate us from the love of God, not even the afflictions we deem unbearable and exceeding (Romans 8:35). It may be that you are confronted with ailments, troubles of all shades, family, marriage problems but God will never forsake you. Even if He allows afflictions to befall us for years, it will surely come to an end at His right time.

A tailor measures the length of a person with a tape measure, one of the ways employed by God to know or test our faith and reliance on Him is to allow afflictions to come our way. God loves us unconditionally to the extent that He pities His children who accept to pass through the afflictions we face in the midst of our fear of Him. ( Ps 103:13-14).

God’s goal in adversity is a way of opening a safe door for us to walk through it into His comfortable and problem free chamber of security. Gods reason for permitting afflictions to generate into our lives is to keep us focused on Him and also to deliver us from pride: that will make us humble. It could be that there are some weaknesses or shortfalls in our Christian lives but God uses afflictions to save us from the power of Satan and his devastating schemes.

Patiently, when we are able to pass through afflictions physically and spiritually that is when we will be awarded with eternal life in Heaven (Hebrews 11:40). We need to turn to God in times of afflictions, and  affirm our commitments. Never lose sight of your divine purpose as a candidate of Heaven. If you apparently walk through today, you will definitely see tomorrow. This is why we will definitely have to walk through afflictions and come out victorious as our Lord Jesus Christ did.

*PRAYER: Lord Jesus, help us to endure afflictions and succeed. AMEN*

“Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.”_(Psalm 128:1)

There are many ways that are leading to different destinations. When we wake up from our beds, some of us drive to our workplaces, others travel far and near,  patients will need to be at the hospital, students will go to school, some will be going for prayer meetings, and people will be coming in and out of our area of residence either to buy or sell in the markets. Whether good or bad, the rationale behind all these movements are to get some missions accomplished.

Now, there is a way that leads to a place of eternal bliss called the Kingdom of Heaven. This Way is called Jesus Christ. When we take a spiritual look at the word “fear” in the context, we will surely know that to fear God is to obey Him and stay focused on our journey to His Kingdom. This fear comes with the love to do His will. Our Master Jesus Christ said in John 14:15, *”If ye love me, keep my commandments”*

Keeping of God’s commandments is equivalent to walking in His ways as our verse is expounding to us this day. Love for God and our neighbours is very important, and by this criteria, we qualify to enter the Home of our Heavenly Father. Don’t forget that he who fears God is born of God and for that matter, he cannot sin; for His Father is Holy.(1John 3:9, Matthew 22:37-40)

*PRAYER*: Lord God of Host, let me fear you with obedience and love you always. AMEN*

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”_(Jeremiah 29:11)

Haddon W. Robinson once said, _”What worries you masters you”._ *Always remember that one of the tactical operations employed by Satan to press you down emotionally and spiritually, is to make you a slave like a worrying soul in demonic custody.*If keeping some Christians worried about worldly possessions isn’t a workable weapon to make some Christians belittle and underrate the omnipotence of God, he wouldn’t have continued to use it as a bait to hook people from God.*

God knows that anxiety and worry are from Satan, not from Him. From our memory verse for the day, the Word of God has made it conspicuous to us that, God already has thought about all our physical and spiritual needs. *His plans for us are not evil but excellent as compared to the weariness of one’s body and soul through worries.*

Brethren, if we confide in our Lord Jesus Christ and His promises, we shall never be worried in life. Instead, His will shall be our will, we shall have thoughts of peace and not of evil. We shouldn’t think about our problems in life when we have truly given our lives to Christ Jesus as the controller of our destinies. Worrying wears you out. What if the desires that are responsible for your worries are not in line with that of Yahweh who knows you and the best you need?

*Sometimes people get worried because of the worldly things they seek to possess.* They compare themselves to this who have what they don’t have, and on top of that, they long for things that will make them lovers of the world and not to bring them closer to Christ. *Never be worried when you are not having what somebody owns or because you think time is closing down on you. If that is your worry, then you will not get to the expected end which God’s Word has prepared for us in Heaven. God knows our needs. *Ours is to pray and be submissive to His Word, and leave the rest to be provided by God in order to humiliate worries and override them.*

*PRAYER*: Dear Lord Jesus, be my Master forever and take away my worries. AMEN*

_”So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was entreated of us.”_(Ezra 8:23)

Ezra’s story reminds me of the steadfastness and uncompromising faith of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. On their way from Babylon, Ezra and his fellow Hebrews knew that apart from the God of Israel, it was a humiliation for them to depend on carnal weapons before they could annihilate the foes on their way from Babylon to the Land of Israel. As they fasted and prayed unto the Lord of Host, victory became theirs, and the weapons of their enemies were of no effect. (2 Corinthians 10:4).

Ezra’s experience is broadening our Biblical knowledge base about the contention between David and Goliath. Just as Goliath boasted of his past glories, weapons, experience in warfare, strength and in his unusually terrifying appearance, David resorted to the Lord God of Israel; because he knew that it is impossible for God’s Spirit to be defeated by physical weapons.

Have you tried killing any evil spirit with your bare hands or with the sharpest sword? The physical cannot attack the spiritual but the other way round is possible. When we always call upon God with fasting, prayers and meditation on the Word of God without defiling ourselves with sin, He will surely win our physical and spiritual battles for us. His hand will be upon us and we will always be delivered from all demons and adversaries (Ezra 8;31).

*PRAYER*: Dear Lord Jesus, all my battles are yours. Victory belongs to you. AMEN*
