We praise the Lord for his protection and mercies last month and ushering us into another glorious month. God bless all readers, doers and sharers of this devotional. Your toils will never be in vain in Jesus’ name Amen.

Joy is a feeling of blessedness,
blissfulness, gladness and happiness. Christianity is a life of joy and real joy is from God. Joy isn’t the absence of sadness ; it’s the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Psalmist says, “You will show me the path of life: in your presence is fullness of joy ; at your right hand there are pleasures for evermore” (Psalm 16:11). The Holy Spirit is the vine of joy and it’s only when He dwells in us that we bear His fruit of Joy. He produces this fruit in us when we incessantly be in His presence, communing with Him in our hearts.

Genuine joy doesn’t always mean there’s a smile on our faces, it exist even amid true sadness; it sometimes mean we’re on our knees with tears of repentance. Charles Spurgeon admitted, “I do not know when I am more perfectly happy than when I am weeping for sin at the foot of the cross”. Joy comes in repentance and forgiveness and by daily dwelling and looking unto Christ and living for His glory, not looking to self and living for our glory.

If we live each day bearing the shame of yesterday and the anxieties of tomorrow, we will never experience the joys of today. C. S. Lewis once said, “Joy is the serious business of heaven”.As the Bible says, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.(Rom. 14:17). Our joy isn’t in who we are or what we’ve done but in who JESUS is and what he has done.
Joy is the magnet that will connect us with Christ when he comes to rapture us.
